Vampire

Yeah, that's Darren. He woke up at 3.35 am this morning and refused to sleep till now! He didn't take his nap too. He keeps opening room doors and playing with them. He keeps shouting thus woke Derrick up this morning. I am really hoping he will talk in no time. This is getting out of hand, haha.

His teacher at PCS JW yesterday complimented that he can focus more. And how she hopes that he will be like that everytime he goes there, but well, we never know, one bad behavior goes off will usually follows by another bad behavior resurface. Just cross my fingers and hope for the best.

Went to Fei Yue today for his intervention just like usual. Teacher said he was good, can do tasks for 20 mins without reinforcement. I think that is good sign. Oh, yeah, one more thing before i forget, his ex teacher at Ichiban called me this afternoon. She said she misses Darren, and would like to visit us this coming Saturday morning, and also to give him the present she promised to give the last time when Darren left Ichiban. Yeah, I feel warm inside, my little boy is still adorable in other ppl eyes. I feel like crying.....at the same time happy. He is my cute boy.... :-)

Cranky Day

Today Darren is cranky, he wants to play with the main door and room door which we will not let because he will hurt himself, but now he is a big boy, so he is able to open the doors eventough we are using magnetic stopper. I think I have to buy some hooks and install it, sigh....

Nowadays when he realised that we forbid him to do something, he will blow his top, screaming on top of his lungs and bang his head to the floor.... This is another bad habit!

The OT room Blue was solved, by covering the tiles area in the room. He didn't see the difference, all covered up, so he was okay. The OT at Fei Yue was so happy that we solved this riddle. haha. They had a hard time because he cried and cried and cried whenever going inside that room. But I think Sanjay is the experienced one, he was able to tackle this problem. I am glad that I decided to go back to him for Darren's OT.
This evening Papa just told me that during the school holidays, a couple of his students might be able to come to our place to be the "Volunteer play friends" for Darren. I am glad, because I have been looking forward to see him be able to speak up. So that he will not be so frustated whenever he wanted something. School holiday period is another big headache for me, as Fei Yue is having holiday also, Darren will be home the whole month. GOSH!

I increased the chelation liquid to 5 drops last Monday. He is even more hyperactive now. Has a bit of difficulty falling asleep and fidgeting a lot. Making a lot of noise. But I think I must go on with this therapy because beside the bad habits (e.q. hyperactivity, head banging & fidgeting), he shows some good behaviors too (e.q. can sit longer, can take public transport, better eye contact, make some sounds & spoke at least one meaningful word).

..ter..ter..ter

You must be wondering about the title? hehe, actually that was the 1st 1/2 word Darren utter, which has meaning. He woken up from his nap, and cried, so i opened the door, and brought him outside. He actually went into the master bedroom, sat on the bed and started crying while saying ....ter....ter....ter, over and over again. I was puzzled didn't know what he is trying to say, then papa said, he wants to drink water! So i went to get the water, and he drank half a bottle smiling all the way. Gosh! I can feel my excitment crawling all over me like crazy ants! My little boy finally can say what he want!

Chelation Rocks!!! BIG TIME!!!!!!!!!!

Smile :-)

We went to OT at Sanjay's today. He cried at the sight of the OT room, tried to find floor which is not covered with mat, to bang his head. But we covered up all the tiles area, so he was whining and crying. Sanjay brought out a big toy car and he was engaged to it right away, trying to spin the wheels. I think we have to cover up the tiles area at Fei Yue's OT room also. So that he can't go there and bang his head, thus he will be engaged to do other stuffs in the room.

He sleeps a lot a lot better with the chelation liquid, and he will wakes up only in the morning now. No more headache for me and Suranti. We can sleep well too.

Better Day By Day

It has been 2 days, since I last pen down my thoughts here. Because has been a bit busy with some family matters. Darren is really showing a lot of improvement in his sleeping pattern. He woke up this morning around 7 AM, cried & i fed him with his milk, he didn't finished it, then continued to sleep till 10 AM. He didn't take his nap, but he required us to bring him to the room to play among the mattresses. Guess he just wanna lie down to relax his tired body after running around with his baby brother.

I joined him in his session at Fei Yue yesterday, I was surprised because now he knows how to use PECS to ask for his snack! This is another great improvement! But he cried for around 15 mins during music & movement, maybe beccause his friend Nelson was also crying. Me and Vivien was trying to calm him down and finally succeeded with musical toy. Or maybe he is sleepy, because after school, while he was drinking his milk, he fell asleep.

I joined him in his session at PCS JW this afternoon, was surprised to see that he can do almost all the tasks given, especially when it was shapes & numbers. He is very interested in circle, and to him number 8 has to be red, ALWAYS. :-)

I am really happy for him, my little boy has slowly coming back to me. So, chelation really helps & it's a miracle!

What goes around comes around

I received this very inspiring email from one of my good friend, which I would like to share with the rest of the world through darren's blog, it goes like this;

One day a man saw an old lady, stranded on the side of the road, but even in the dim light of day, he could see she needed help. So he pulled up in front of her Mercedes and got out. His Pontiac was still sputtering when he approached her. Even with the smile on his face, she was worried. No one had stopped to help for the last hour or so. Was he going to hurt her? He didn't look safe; he looked poor and hungry. He could see that she was frightened, standing out there in the cold. He knew how she felt. It was those chills which only fear can put in you.He said, "I'm here to help you, ma'am. Why don't you wait in the car where it's warm? By the way, my name is Bryan Anderson." Well, all she had was a flat tire, but for an old lady, that was bad enough. Bryan crawled under the car looking for a place to put the jack, skinning his knuckles a time or two. Soon he was able to change the tire. But he had to get dirty and his hands hurt. As he was tightening up the lug nuts, she rolled down the window and began to talk to him. She told him that she was from St. Louis and was only just passing through. She couldn't thank him enough for coming to her aid. Bryan just smiled as he closed her trunk. The lady asked how much she owed him. Any amount would have been all right with her. She already imagined all the awful things that could have happened had he not stopped. Bryan never thought twice about being paid. This was not a job to him. This was helping someone in need, and God knows there were plenty, who had given him a hand in the past. He had lived his whole life that way, and it never occurred to him to act any other way. He told her that if she really wanted to pay him back, the next time she saw someone who needed help, she could give that person the assistance they needed, and Bryan added, "And think of me." He waited until she started her car and drove off. It had been a cold and depressing day, but he felt good as he headed for home, disappearing into the twilight. A few miles down the road the lady saw a small cafe. She went in to grab a bite to eat, and take the chill off before she made the last leg of her trip home. It was a dingy looking restaurant. Outside were two old gas pumps. The whole scene was unfamiliar to her. The waitress came over and brought a clean towel to wipe her wet hair. She had a sweet smile, one that even being on her feet for the whole day couldn't erase. The lady noticed the waitress was nearly eight months pregnant, but she never let the strain and aches change her attitude. The old lady wondered how someone who had so little could be so giving to a stranger. Then she remembered Bryan .. After the lady finished her meal, she paid with a hundred dollar bill. The waitress quickly went to get change for her hundred dollar bill, but the old lady had slipped right out the door. She was gone by the time the waitress came back. The waitress wondered where the lady could be. Then she noticed something written on the napkin. There were tears in her eyes when she read what the lady wrote: "You don't owe me anything. I have been there too. Somebody once helped me out, the way I'm helping you. If you really want to pay me back, here is what you do: Do not let this chain of love end with you." Under the napkin were four more $100 bills.Well, there were tables to clear, sugar bowls to fill, and people to serve, but the waitress made it through another day. That night when she got home from work and climbed into bed, she was thinking about the money and what the lady had written. How could the lady have known how much she and her husband needed it? With the baby due next month, it was going to be hard.... She knew how worried her husband was, and as he lay sleeping next to her, she gave him a soft kiss and whispered soft and low, "Everything' s going to be all right. I love you, Bryan Anderson."There is an old saying "What goes around comes around." Today, I sent you this story and I'm asking you to pass it on... Let this light shine.

Today Darren's teacher at PCS JW reported that he scratched his ass repeateadly during the lesson, so she asked me is it because the diaper has caused irritation to him. I told her that he is not like that on the way home and not at any other places, so it might be an act of coping, as he wannna escape from doing tasks that he doesn't feel like doing, but she doesn't seem to understand this. Somewhat I think she is lack the experience, she might have gone through the special education courses but she is just lack experience. But i am keeping darren's place there, as i wanted him to go to the nursery there next year when he turn 4, as they have special education dept to support him, my wish is for him to go to normal stream school when he is going to primary 1.

He woke up at 4 am again last night and refused to fall asleep till 6 am, and woke up at 9 am. So, still better than in the past. I think the chelation is slowly beginning to give my little boy back to me. I am hoping it will help him with his speech too, the biggest concern on my part. I believe once he can talk and can express what are his needs and wants, the temper tantrum & self inflicted injuries will be less severe.
The picture was taken when Darren is very much younger. Cute cute boy. :-)

OT "Blue"

Darren hates OT now! I can't understand why. He will go to the floor that is not padded and stomped his feet there. He did that at Sanjay's and he did it twice at Fei Yue. Gym Ball & Bubble usually do the trick, to coax him to participate in the session. Today he is in the new class at Fei Yue, can say "downgraded" to a 1-to-1 class, as a lot of things he still unable to achieve without much prompting. He still needs lots of prompting. So Vivien told me that they have to make sure he graduated from Grace class, then he can be at the Joy class again. One step at a time.

I have called the craniosacral practitioner at High street. She quoted me 100 bucks for 45 min to 1 hr. Gosh, that's expensive. I am not sure how, as sound therapy goes hand in hand with craniosacral in order to loosen the skull. If not the vibration during the sound therapy will caused the whole process to backfire, might bring back all his bad habits. The craniosacral Course that i planned to take, has no intake for this time of year, as their next intake will be in the mid of next year.Even so, that will set us back by 1280 USD. We will see how it goes, now we are up to our neck, as Darren needs a lot of stuffs to support his day to day life. Supplements, education,OT,ST & probably craniosacral & sound therapy.......

This picture was take during Darren's 3rd Birthday. All not looking at camera, hahaha

Bukit Timah Nature Reserve

Darren is totally good after the kids chelat. I am glad i never looked back as he has some bad habits coming up also, more licking & hyperactivity. But he never cries without any reason anymore. Totally good all the way. We went to speech therapy by Suan Lin today, and he was okay, coopertive and easy to work with. I didn't go to the cleansing session by the tibetan monk who claimed he can make autistic children calmer, as Darren doesn't need that now.

I went to Bukit timah nature reserve with papa & his students today. Good experience for a good exercise session. I think i will try to go every sunday, as i need all the exercise. I am too fat already! I have to be able to shed some kgs!

Craniosacral therapy

Went to see Sanjay today for OT and was asking him about sound therapy. He assessed Darren and told me that he might not take the sound therapy well, as his head is a bit tight, so he suggested we go to Craniosacral therapy. And meanwhile we will address Darren's sensory issues, and will start him on sound therapy using bone conductors headphone for the vibration. He will lend us his CDs and see if Darren likes the idea. If he doesn't feel comfortable putting on the headphone, then we have no choice. We can't possibly forcing him.

Papa doesn't think that the idea of going to OT & sound therapy is a good idea, but I believe it will help him with his excessive licking as this is sensory issue. So, I guess we must go on no matter how hard it will get, mentally & financially.

So excited

Darren was awake at 4.30 am this morning. He wanted to throw tantrum, but i quickly sing his favoruite nursery ryhmes, and he was smiling. Then i feed him the milk i have prepared for him before i went to bed. He took that down in 15 mins, feeding & sleeping at the same time. This is the 1st time he is like that, just like what Derrick always do! so he is a little bit normal :-)
He left a bit of milk unfinished then he went back to sleep till 7.30 AM. this is really great improvement!

I did a test for heavy metal on him this morning. The reading for mercury is alarmingly high, fit the color chart for mercury straight away. So, I started him on the "kids Chelat" straight away. 3 drops with 3 oz of spring water for a week, the subsequent week, can be 5 to 10 drop with 6 oz of water.

Afternoon nap is not good after the kids chelat. He seems to be hyperactiveactive. Prespiring a lot. I am not sure it is how it supposed to be, but i think i will go on with this therapy. And i changed the cooking pot we always use to cook his meal to corningware, instead of stainless steel, just to make sure he doesn't feed with more heavy metals.

I am looking for good water filter system which can filtered out heavy metals and other harmful substances from our drinking water, so that we will see the benefit of the chelation therapy. For now, i am using the one without electricity, with carbon and stones to filter the water which i brought back from indonesia. Not sure how good is it. But we have been drinking it since last year. The water at Jurong is especially dirty with industrial area nearby thus polluting the water and air a great deal.

He refused to sleep just now, and the teachers at his school told me that he cried for 15 mins there with no appearant reason. Maybe it's the side effect of the chelation therapy, but I think I have to go on, in order for him to be better in the future.

Probiotics rules

Darren is on second day of probiotics. I can immediately see more focus on the 2nd day. He will look at human faces longer, and pay attention to the things that he never see before. I think the yeast infection was affecting him a lot. He cried a lot back then, i suspected it was because of stomach discomfort. He has not been crying for no reason for 2 days, which is good news to us the caregivers. I think probiotics helps with immune system too, remember i was saying he has flu and cough? He is better today, still having flu but no more runny nose and no coughing. He is back to school today, I can see that he enjoys his sessions at schools. He was smiling, and flapping his arms when we went out from the house to go to school just now. And on the way back from school, he was calm also, but very excited.

But he has another problem now. Can't sleep well. He wakes up every 1 to 2 hrs and refused to fall asleep again. And he will beat himself and scream on top of his lungs if he see i am the one who attended to him. But once he see Suranti, he will be quiet, but still refuse to sleep.

I am still reading up on articles about this sleeping problem. Dr. Yeo susped ted because his liver is working very hard at night thus making him awake, so he introduced milk thistle to us which will help with the liver function, but nothing changed. He is still awake several times every night. It has been tiring week for Suranti, because of lack of sleep. I can't imagine what i would be without her.

He was given a shot of B12 earlier, and he scream and talk more like usual, but still no proper speech. I am actually worried about this, but i am sure with age, he will be able to speak in the future. Yeah, let's hope for the best.
I am quite happy today, because Darren shows a bit of social skill. My husband's niece actually brought her 2 kids here this morning. Darren was excited upon seeing the younger boy. He wanted to greet him, but...uuhhmm he tried to poke his eyes & pushed him on his face instead. The boy was afraid of him now, whenever he sees darren is near he will cry for help. So I think Darren needs some social intervention. I have talked to his teacher at PCS JW about this, and she said start from next week, she will bring him out to the class for normal kids at the centre maybe for 1/2 hr, but she needs to get approval from the teacher of the class 1st.
Darren was awaken from his sleep a while ago, because of his cough. I went into the room, rubbed his back and told him not to cry, and guess what? he is asleep again now! This is really amazing! And one good news, the chelation liquid has arrived this evening. I will have to stop his supplements tomorrow and will collect his urine sample the next morning, to get the correct reading of the amount of heavy metals in his body. I want to see if the chelation liquid really work well, will have to purchased another set of the test kit again after he is on the liquid for a month.

Still down with flu & cough

Darren is still very sick today. Runny nose and coughing badly. So, no school for him again. This morning when went to autism clinic to purchased his supplements, we brought him along, so that he will feel better, at least he is out of the house for a while, to prevent him from boredom and temper tantrum. It works well with him, no crying the whole day!

I have purchased probiotics from autism clinic, it set us back at 101 bucks, but it's worth it, because he has not been pooing for the whole day yesterday, and today we let him took a capsule and he pooed 4 times, all sticky mess. Hope that he can sleep better, but i doubt it, because his nose is blocked due to flu.

Nothing much to say today, because it has been a peaceful day. Less temper tantrum, less crying, less screaming, less self injuring. *phew*

Let's hope for a better tomorrow :-)

People who don't understand

I like to bring the kids to the park below my in-laws block. Because it's a huge park with plenty of grass spaces to cushion their falls. And the kids like to play at the sand pit there. Especially Derrick. Darren likes to touch sands for the texture but no proper play so far, as he doesn't understand pretend play/imaginative play. Derrick will pretend that he is eating the sand out of the bowl with the spoon in his hand, but he is a lousy digger. I will be doing the digging for him usually, so that he will have some sands in his bowl.

But I hate those aunties whom like to sit there every evening. Because my boy, he doesn't know what is danger, so he will run into everything, go down dangerously steep slope without thinking or even roll down the slope. And he ate sand and small stones few times. So, I have to like really follow him whenever he goes. Those aunties, will be saying that I am too anxious, just let him run around the park, and they ask me to sit down and watch him. They just don't understand! so, they are forgiven. As they don't know what the hell is autism.
The picture on top was taken when Darren is younger, I think when he was around 2 years old. The best picture of him I have ever seen! He looks so perfectly normal. Papa, next time wear yr t-shirt for photo taking, hehe

Runny Nose

Today Darren is having a bad flu, sneezing frequently and runny nose. It has been a while since he was sick. He seldom sick now, but common cold is still a threat to him. Think he has to take probiotics; good bacterias, just like what you have in your yakult and vitagen. Autistic kids need a lot more than the usual people, because usually they are affected by yeast infection inside their colons.

Yeah think tomorrow I have to get it from the autism clinic, and also to replenish his Dr. Formula multivitamin & milk thistle.

I have purchased the kit to test for heavy metal detoxification inside the body, and also a chelation liquid, from a company called Even Better Now
Click here for Evenbetternow.com Alternative Health website..
I have to chose the slower delivery time as i have budget constraint, so have to wait for it to arrive maybe around 20th of this month.
Have read that chelation will help them a lot, so let's cross our fingers and hope for the best.

He is sick, so no school for him today, called his teacher at PCS Jurong West, and told her Darren is not going in today. The centre has a policy, if the child is sick but has no MC they will not give replacement lessons. And Darren is not gonna get MC as he can't eat those medicine prescribes by doctors. Once when he was younger, very sickly, down with flu and cough for the whole month. We brough him to a child specialist clinic at Jurong East, he went berserk after taking those medicines. Cried for the whole week and got blue black all over his head resulted from his head banging to the floor. So, from that experience, no more western medication for flu and cough for him. We are using chinese herb approach. To build up his immune system and to prevent cold & cough. So, every week there will be one day, I will cook "Ginseng Chicken Soup" for him and his baby brother. It's pretty easy, just buy those packaged herbs from chinese medicinal shop, pour it inside the pot, add some water, add the chicken, add a bit of salt for taste. Simmer in low fire for 3 to 4 hours, and the delicious ginseng chicken soup is ready.

So, I told his teacher, it's okay even if you can't get replacement lessons for us. As his behavior at home is more important, to make sure that he is good to go for subsequent lessons. She asked me to bring him to the western doctor for the sake of getting MC, but i told her a straight no. I am not gonna spend 25 bucks just to get an MC! I can use the 25 bucks for a lot of things.
Oh, yeah i forgot to mention, we are using "Kuasa" for the kids also whenever they are sick. It's using onion/coin with lots of medicinal oil, rub the coin in up and down motion around the skin on the back from neck down to waist. It will get horribly red, but after that you will feel as if the wind inside your body has been released just like devil out from the hell. haha. They get better faster that way. We have been using it for sometime whenever the boys are sick.

Darren, Derrick & Myself

These pics was taken during Yew Tee District "Baby Show 2007" in July. Derrick didn't win any prizes, but it's the experience and exposure for him that we are seeking. He is not qualified as they are looking for healthy baby. He has hypothyroidism, thus he is not qualified to be in the contest. Our heart feel a bit painful but this is the society like. It is always looking for perfection in everything, that's why we are worried about what future will hold for Darren.
When I 1st concieved Derrick, I was worried he will be autistic like Darren too. But knowing that he is okay till this stage, we can't say anything but thank God for it's kindness. We belive He has a purpose of giving Darren to us. At least we can give him all the treatments that he needs to make him better. I have been reading on the link of MMR vaccine with autism, and it scares me. Derrick has not been going to MMR, it's supposed to be injected to him when he was 13 months, but now that he is 18 mths i am still reluctant to let him go for it, maybe when he is 2 years old. It's better be safe than sorry.
Darren took his B12 shot today, and he seems to be taking it well this time, seems very happy, ran around the room, and kept laughing, but no temper tantrum, to my relief. He didn't sleep again this afternoon. So he was asleep at 9 PM just now. And he is sure to be awake at 5 AM tomorrow morning. another hard early day for me, haha.
While i was writing this, i heard familiar voice crying in the room. Darren is awake! gosh! I need to go now.

What is autism?

What is Autism? An Overview

Autism is a complex neurobiological disorder that typically lasts throughout a person's lifetime. It is part of a group of disorders known as autism spectrum disorders (ASD). Today, 1 in 150 individuals is diagnosed with autism, making it more common than pediatric cancer, diabetes, and AIDS combined. It occurs in all racial, ethnic, and social groups and is four times more likely to strike boys than girls.
Autism impairs a person's ability to communicate and relate to others. It is also associated with rigid routines and repetitive behaviors, such as obsessively arranging objects or following very specific routines. Symptoms can range from very mild to quite severe. Autism was first identified in 1943 by Dr. Leo Kanner of Johns Hopkins Hospital. At the same time, a German scientist, Dr. Hans Asperger, described a milder form of the disorder that is now known as Asperger Syndrome (read more).
These two disorders are listed in the DSM IV (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders) as two of the five developmental disorders that fall under the autism spectrum disorders. The others are Rett Syndrome, PDD NOS (Pervasive Developmental Disorder), and Childhood Disintegrative Disorder.
All of these disorders are characterized by varying degrees of impairment in communication skills and social abilities, and also by repetitive behaviors. For more discussion on the range of diagnoses that comprise autism spectrum disorder, click here.Autism spectrum disorders can usually be reliably diagnosed by age 3, although new research is pushing back the age of diagnosis to as early as 6 months.
Parents are usually the first to notice unusual behaviors in their child or their child's failure to reach appropriate developmental milestones. Some parents describe a child that seemed different from birth, while others describe a child who was developing normally and then lost skills.
Pediatricians may initially dismiss signs of autism, thinking a child will “catch up,” and may advise parents to “wait and see.” New research shows that when parents suspect something is wrong with their child, they are usually correct. If you have concerns about your child's development, don't wait: speak to your pediatrician about getting your child screened for autism. If your child is diagnosed with autism, early intervention is critical to gain maximum benefit from existing therapies.
Although parents may have concerns about labeling a toddler as “autistic,” the earlier the diagnosis is made, the earlier interventions can begin. Currently, there are no effective means to prevent autism, no fully effective treatments, and no cure.
Research indicates, however, that early intervention in an appropriate educational setting for at least two years during the preschool years can result in significant improvements for many young children with autism spectrum disorders.
As soon as autism is diagnosed, early intervention instruction should begin. Effective programs focus on developing communication, social, and cognitive skills.

Less crying today

Darren is happier today, I think the vitamins effect has started to kick in. Yipppiee! He woke up at 5 am this morning, wanted to throw tantrum, but i sang some nursery songs and he was smiling, but refused to sleep. So I have to ask for Suranti's(our domestic helper) help to make him sleep again as he is afraid of her, which I don't know why, maybe she has got big eyes. haha.

Monday is at Fei Yue, and he will be more than happy to go there. lots of teachers to play with. And I realised after his B12 injections his social skill is slightly better. At least now he takes notice of other kids around, the only thing he doesn't understand is how to relate with them. Usually he will try to poke their eyes as it's shiny and moving. No kids will like this, so they are afraid of him. Poor Darren.

Today he has to be injected with B12 again to give his brain a super charge. A lot of therapists or experts in autism in Singapore consider this method inhumane. But if B12 really can help my kid to be better in the future. A little bit of pain in the ass will be worth it. We injected the buttock area which filled with fats, so the pain will be less severe and the risk it's not high. Usually I never will tell the teachers about our bio medical treatment as a lot of them are biased about it. I will usually inform them about the GFCF diet, just to make sure he is not given anything he is forbidden to eat.

I am a busy mom, with 2 toddlers around. Whenever Derrick see Darren is on my lap, he will cry in order to sit on my lap also. Sometimes I just can't take this, I can't possibly pacify 2 crying toddlers. My life is easier with Suranti around. I can't imagine how it will go when she is on her holiday to her hometown for 3 weeks next year. God knows

Sunday Blue

It's Sunday again! We always wonder why the weeks pass this quick.
Sunday is usually "Tumble tots" at 10.30 AM for Derrick & Speech Therapy at "Citris" at 2 PM for Darren. But today is still "Hari Raya Aidilfitri", so no class for Derrick and the speech therapy is cancelled for personal reason by the therapist. And the worst part is Darren likes the class and he likes his routine, so no class means bawling, kicking & head knocking for him the whole day. So we decided to bring him on a car ride, and had to cancel a dinner with family friends. He likes car ride a lot where he can see the cars coming at the opposite side of the highways, and the bushes running along the highways. I guess he just wanna go out because our flat is just too small for him to run around.

I wanted to try taking him off his vitamins for last week, and it proofed me silly. He had difficulty sleeping and had been crying the whole week. If you wonder what kind of treatment we are getting for Darren, I can share it with you. He is currently on "Early intervention" program at Fei Yue Community Service on Mon, Wed & Fri; and for Tue & Thu he is at PCS Jurong West for one- to-one intervention program. Once a week Occupational therapy at Fei Yue & we are planning to start him on OT & Sound therapy at Sanjay's, still waiting for the slot being allocated to us. Once a week speech therapy at "Citris". I am a firm believer on "Bio-medical treatment", so he is on GFCF diet, Vitamin B12 injections twice a week, B6 & Magnesium twice a day, DMG & Folic acid thrice a day, Dr' Formula multi vitamins powder twice a day, & milk thistle twice a day. Well, he can't do without those! Last week was my nightmare!

I was reading on HBOT at autism forum, and I am just wondering if I can try Darren on this to correct his licking "stims". His licking has been so bad that he doesn't spare anything in the house. He licks anything & everything, TV, floor, wall, toys, window grilles, anything!
That's why he is having difficulty putting on weight, he is a tall lass, so every time he got runny stomach from those excessive licking he will lose weight again. I am really really concern about this! Still waiting for Dr. Yeo from "The Autism Clinic" to reply my email for this matter.
